Testing Methodology

I ordered 4 different Vooglam frames over a 6 month period, testing for:

  • Overall quality and durability
  • Style and visual appeal
  • Fit, comfort and weight
  • Ease of ordering and delivery
  • Customer service responsiveness

I wore each frame for at least one month as my daily glasses. I also intentionally tossed them in my bag loose to test their durability. Here is a summary of my hands-on experience and honest thoughts:

Vooglam Frames Review & Analysis

I was drawn to Vooglam for their standout range of modern frames I struggled finding elsewhere. I ended up selecting 4 very different styles to put to the test:

Cat Eye Frames

Cat eye shapes are my go-to, so I had to snag a pair of Vooglam‘s popular Trudie Glasses.

These thin yet oversized beauts feature a slight cat eye lift in shiny red tortoiseshell acetate. They make quite the sassy statement!

From the moment I put them on I was in love. The angular shape instantly made my eyes pop with a subtle 60s vibe. I felt like a retro movie starlet.

In terms of quality, I‘m impressed how well these frames have held up after months of wear. The hinges connect firmly with no looseness or rattling. The spring arms open and close smoothly without losing their bounce.

I intentionally threw them in my bag loose multiple times and they don‘t have a single scratch. The acetate material seems thicker and more durable than typical cheap frames.

For just $15, the Trudie cat eyes punch well above their price point. Definite 5 stars from me!

Pros
⭐ Dramatic cat eye shape instantly lifts eyes
⭐ Durable acetate frame shows minimal wear
⭐ Sturdy spring hinges respond well

Cons
⭐ Arms could be slightly longer for larger heads

Geometric Frames

Next up are Vooglam‘s Ayomide Glasses with transparent rainbow swirl frames. How could I resist testing these artsy beauties?

Beyond the obvious geometric statement they make, I appreciate how the design keeps the focus on your eyes. My hazel green color looks more vibrant encased in the rainbow.

The playful shape did take some getting used to. The low boxier profile definitely took up more space on my face. But once I adjusted, I really grew to love this whimsical style.

In terms of durability, this frame also exceeds expectations. After 4 months of wear, I see no visible damage despite loosely tossing in bags.

The transparent swirly acetate plastic still looks brand new. The sturdy spring hinges also snap back firmly. Can‘t complain for just $7!

Pros
⭐ Playful rainbow colorway
⭐ Geometric shape makes eyes pop
⭐ Surprisingly durable construction

Cons
⭐ Boxy shape harder to adjust to
⭐ Lenses prone to smudges

Round Metal Frames

I decided to shake up my eyewear game even further with the Coco Round Metal Frames. I gravitate towards acetate plastic so this was a big change up to metal.

I chose a pair with thin gold rims and transparent lenses to keep things light. The circular metal shape effortlessly gives off those cool intellectual philosophy major vibes.

Vooglam‘s Coco Round Metal Frames in Gold ($17)

Unfortunately, these ended up being my least favorite pair from Vooglam. While the look is darling and I got lots of compliments, they felt slightly flimsy.

The thin metal frames didn‘t have enough weight and stability on my face. As a result, the fit wasn‘t secure enough and they constantly slid down my nose.

I definitely had to baby these frames more than the others too. The lenses were more prone to scratches which worried me. For just $17 I didn‘t hate them, but probably won‘t purchase this style again.

Pros
⭐ Delicate gold metal paired with round lenses
⭐ Lots of compliments on the style

Cons
⭐ Lacking durability
⭐ Flimsy fit, not enough weight
⭐ Lenses easily scratched

Blue Light Glasses

Finally, I decided to test a pair of Vooglam blue light blocking glasses. I work long hours staring at screens for my job. I hoped these would help prevent headaches and eye strain.

I went with the Ulla Rectangle Frame style made specifically for blocking blue light emitted from devices. These clear lens wayfarers have a subtle yellow tint to filter high energy visible (HEV) light.

Beyond just blue light protection, I appreciate the sleek rectangular silhouette. The transparent color palette gives off very contemporary techie vibes. Think Silicon Valley programmer chic.

In terms of performance, these glasses work great at reducing headaches and eye fatigue from extended screen use. I use them daily while working on my laptop without issue.

The scratch-resistant lenses have also held up nicely. However, smudges do show more prominently on the light tint. I find myself cleaning these lenses more than the others.

For just $26 though, these frames serve their purpose as blue light blockers. I would repurchase this style in other colors to coordinate with different outfits.

Pros
⭐ Attractive transparent wayfarer silhouette
⭐ Lenses effectively block blue light from screens
⭐ Scratch-proof lenses have nice clarity

Cons
⭐ Smudge more easily
⭐ Could come in more color choices

After extensively testing 4 very different Vooglam frames, here are my key takeaways:

🌟setFrame styles were consistently on-trend and unique – major compliments!

🌟Most frames I tried had impressive durability with minimal scratches after months of heavy use

🌟Hinges and arms maintained strength and flexibility over time

🌟Lenses offered crisp, undistorted vision without annoying glare

🌟Blue light blocking lenses noticeably reduced eye fatigue

But Vooglam still far exceeds expectations for budget-friendly eyewear. I‘m thrilled to have discovered frames with actual style and quality at just a fraction of standard prices.

While minor flaws exist, they don‘t take away from Vooglam‘s overall value proposition to me. These fun fashionable frames let me affordably switch up my look anytime.
