AndaSeat Kaiser 3 Gaming Chair Review

Unboxing the AndaSeat Kaiser 3

Upon receiving the Kaiser 3, I was immediately impressed by the high quality packaging and presentation. The box itself is well-constructed and durable, with custom color graphics displaying the key features of the chair.

Slitting open the packing tape reveals a neatly arranged interior, with molded foam compartments securely holding each component in place. All parts are individually wrapped for an added layer of protection.

At just under 70 lbs total, the chair has some heft to it, indicating a solid and sturdy build. Large thick foam blocks cushion each section during shipping.

As I removed the foam packaging, my initial impressions were exceedingly positive. At first touch, the stitching and padding seemed superior to other chairs I‘ve owned. Just handling the backrest and seat gave me confidence that this chair could provide comfort for marathon gaming sessions.

Easy Step-by-Step Assembly

Assembling the Kaiser 3 could not have been simpler. AndaSeat provides excellent visual instructions that make putting all the quality components together intuitive and straightforward.

First, I slid the casters into the sturdy 5-star metal base. An audible ‘click‘ let me know they were securely installed. Next came attaching the hydraulics cylinder and cover prior to mating the chair‘s bottom half with the backrest.

Four high tensile strength screws lined up perfectly to join the backrest and seat. I was able to fully insert and tighten by hand using the included hex key tool in under 5 minutes.

After inserting the tilt mechanism control knob, the chair was ready to go. Total assembly time was around 15 minutes. The excellent included tools and hardware combined with simple construction yielded a professional and lasting finished product.

Sizing and Initial Impressions

I ordered the XL version of the Kaiser 3 due to being 6‘ 2" and over 200 lbs. The sizing chart on the AndaSeat website helped me pick the appropriate model.

Size Recommended Height
Large 4‘11‘‘ – 5‘11‘‘
XL 5‘11‘‘ – 6‘8‘‘

As a taller gentleman, the XL was an ideal fit. For context, I also compared the measurements to my previous office chair:

Feature AndaSeat Kaiser 3 XL Old Office Chair
Seat Width 22" 20"
Backrest Height 36" 24"
Max Overall Height 57" 45"

The extra width and back support surely make a difference for providing full contact to the chair‘s surface while sitting. I felt securely cradled by the ample padding wrapped in supple faux leather.

My first impression sitting in the Kaiser 3 was how incredibly plush yet firm the seat cushioning felt. The high-density foam forms perfectly to the contours of the body without sagging. Plus the smooth PVC leather both looks and feels high end.

Tilting back, I was able to comfortably recline to about 135 degrees before needing to use the tilt lock. The heavy metal base stayed firmly planted, inspiring confidence in the long term durability. The chair‘s build quality already seems far superior to lower-cost alternatives.

Armrest and Lumbar Support

A standout feature of the Kaiser 3 is the 4 directional adjustable armrests. Many comparably priced chairs lack armrest height adjustment, but these offer vertical movement in addition to width, depth and pivot adjustments.

For proper ergonomic arm support while typing, I found myself adjusting the rests compared to using them while gaming. Lateral and forward/back slides covered a range of several inches to accommodate different activities.

The plush memory foam surface makes full contact with my elbows without causing discomfort during longer sessions. And the armrests lock securely in place once positioned thanks to a dual adjustment button and tight tolerances.

In addition to the well-executed adjustable rests, the Kaiser 3 has excellent lumbar support. An adjustable lumbar cushion mounted on an integrated steel mechanism provides just the right amount of pressure.

Turning a knob shifts the cushion inward and outward by over an inch. Set between the shoulder blades, I‘m able to achieve improved upright posture that should help avoid back soreness even after consecutive all-day gaming events.

Long-Term Testing Impressions

Over several weeks of mixed usage including gaming, work, listening to music, and more, the Kaiser 3 remains just as comfortable as day one. The high resilient foam retains its shape perfectly so far.

I especially appreciate the seat width while being able to swivel, adjust height, and tilt the chair as desired. Moving from typing papers to entering an immersive virtual world is simple: just push back and lock in the fully reclined yet stable position.

The smooth adjustable armrests stay where placed and make minimal noise. The lumbar cushion‘s flexibility and secure base continue providing customizable lower back support for proper spine alignment.

All adjustment points move freely while retaining selected configurations – none have loosened over time. I anticipate getting many years of all day comfort out of this thoughtfully designed and manufactured chair.

Should You Buy The AndaSeat Kaiser 3?

For anyone seeking a multifunction gaming and office chair with excellent ergonomics, the Kaiser 3 absolutely earns a strong recommendation.

Sturdy construction plus supportive, comfortable padding in a visually sleek design make this reasonably priced model stand above most competitors. It simply checks all boxes for users focused on quality, comfort, and longevity.
