Picking my way up the foreboding rock faces on foot, I soon spied the modest cave entrance rumored to house the ancient lockbox. Strange artifacts and eerie artifacts marking the threshold quickened my pulse, assuring me I was on the right track to discovering something special.
Pro Tip from a Gaming Puzzle Pro: Never rush into an unsolved tomb without stopping to search where you stand! Just outside the puzzle entrance, hidden in the shadows, rested an Ancient Jedha Scroll – a tantalizing treat for treasure hunters like myself! Into my pack it went before proceeding deeper inside.
Evaluating the Combination Wall
Wending my way inward through columns of stone, the path terminated abruptly at a wall of intricately carved blocks. Examining the barrier with an appraiser’s eye, I confirmed online speculation about manipulation points allowing certain pieces to shift under applied force. Though weathered by time, specialized markings denoted specific bricks that were key to unlocking the way forward.
The wall consisted of two horizontal sections, each with four bricks. Etchings accented the first and fourth blocks on the upper row, then the second and third bricks of the lower row. Lightsaber sweat gathered on my brow as I contemplated my first move.

Centering myself with a deep breath, I extended my senses, using the intuition honed over years of gaming to guide my next move…
Executing the Solution
Reaching out through the Force, I gripped the top row‘s far left brick and steadily pulled until the block slid from the wall with a scrape and a rumble. The dust settled without incident – no traps triggered. So far, so good!
Emboldened, I targeted the center left brick on the bottom next, extracting it as fluidly as the first. Repeating the gesture for its neighbor, the middle right block likewise shifted cleanly away with no negative repercussions.
Brow furrowed in concentration, I moved the final component: the lower right pillar I suspected might complete the sequence. Responding to my pull, it emerged…and held there awaiting one final maneuver.
The room itself seemed to draw an anticipatory breath, awaiting my definitive action. Then, excruciatingly, the wall began to retract upwards, ancient mechanics grinding as it revealed a glowing chamber beyond! The Crypt of Uhrma was open!
My memory holds few gaming moments more gratifying than witnessing that door lift toward revelations untold. Despite solving thousands of video game puzzles across decades of play, the satisfaction of leveraging hard-won skills to overcome a combination lock like Crypt of Urhma’s remains unmatched. I pumped a victorious fist…before catching myself and resuming the inscrutable Jedi demeanor expected of Star Wars heroes.
Had other gamers uncovered its secrets yet? I felt reasonably sure from monitoring fan spaces pre-release that I was among the first to document and demonstrate decoding this particular stumper. While unearthing the Uhrma solution remains a career highlight, many compelling challenges await throughout Jedi: Survivor as both quandaries to solve and battles to fight. For example, the desert Vaults of Kentas conceal unique cluster pattern puzzles I’ve only begun deciphering that warrant an entire guide themselves!
And few tests of reflexes and concentration compare to the negative space Guardian challenges in Chalacta Temple Gates. My red lightsaber bears many scorch marks from those timed training exercises!
Even the mercurial ontba Catacombs demand cooperation between multiple Jedi via runic symbols – a puzzle category we rarely see in mainstream games that brought some friends together to decode its secrets.
Beyond standout moments of victory, what keeps me returning to immersive worlds like Jedi: Survivor are the people I get to share them with. Wielding virtual power over solutions that stymie friends can be nearly as rewarding as discovering them myself! And few joys compare to lending hard-earned puzzle prowess to newcomers just beginning their Jedi journey when they feel most frustrated and ready to quit.
