Samsung PC on TV allows you to view and control your computer desktop directly on your Samsung TV. There are a few different ways to connect your PC to your Samsung TV:
Easy Connection
The Easy Connection method allows you to remotely control your PC through a dedicated app on your mobile device or Samsung TV. To use Easy Connection:
- Make sure both your PC and Samsung TV are connected to the same WiFi network.
- On your PC, download and install the Samsung PC on TV software.
- On your mobile device, download the Samsung PC on TV app.
- Open the app, select your TV, and connect to your PC. You can now view and control your PC from your phone.
The benefit of Easy Connection is you don‘t need any cables – everything is done wirelessly over your WiFi network. The downside is there may be some lag, especially when streaming video.
Screen Mirroring
If your PC has Miracast support, you can use Screen Mirroring to wirelessly mirror your PC‘s display to your Samsung TV. To use Screen Mirroring:
- Make sure both your PC and Samsung TV are connected to the same WiFi network.
- On your PC, open the Connect app and select your Samsung TV to start mirroring.
Screen Mirroring provides lower lag than Easy Connection, but the video quality may suffer compared to a wired connection.
Samsung DeX
If you have a Samsung mobile device that supports DeX, you can use your phone or tablet as a PC by connecting it to your TV. To use DeX:
- Connect your Samsung mobile device to your TV‘s HDMI port with a USB-C to HDMI adapter.
- Your phone will switch into DeX mode, providing a desktop-style experience on your TV.
DeX provides a seamless wired connection with full control over your mobile device. Just note that your phone must remain connected to use DeX.
Wired Connection
For the best performance, connect your PC directly to your Samsung TV using an HDMI cable. Make sure to use an HDMI port on your TV that supports HDMI 2.0 for 4K resolution at 60Hz.
With a wired HDMI connection, you get the lowest lag and highest video quality. The only downside is dealing with the cable.
Tweaking Settings For the Best Experience
To optimize your Samsung TV for use as a PC monitor:
- Set the input label to "PC" under External Device Manager.
- Enable Game Mode to reduce input lag.
- Adjust the picture size to fill the screen.
- Set the TV to PC mode under Picture Size settings.
- Disable motion smoothing and other video processing.
- Set the picture mode to "Standard" or "Movie".
With the proper tweaks, your Samsung TV can provide an excellent PC monitoring experience. The large screen makes it great for productivity and PC gaming. Just be sure to sit back far enough to avoid eye strain.
