Why Does A Good Mattress Matter? Experts say that your spinal alignment needs to be neutral, and a good mattress can make all the difference.
Before we started writing mattress reviews, we didn't think that anyone would be interested. But I guess we underestimated how much everyone loves to enhance their sleep quality. Speaking of which, most people don't know the differences between some top-rated brands, and we can see why. Both the Puffy and the Casper mattress make some very bold promises, and it can get tough for users to choose one over the other.
We have to say that even we found it hard to see a lot of differences between the two. Inevitably, regarding brand popularity and fame, Casper leads the list. But regarding actual quality and service, the lines can get blurred. However, we managed to find many differences between the Puffy and the Casper mattresses, and here they are! You may be interested in How to Choose a Mattress Fit for You? The Puffy mattress has a pretty simple construction, using only two layers of foam and a resilient softcover. Both the foam layers combine to form a highly firm and sturdy 10-inch mattress that provides most for back and side sleepers. Casper’s layers are four in number and extraordinary in performance. Their mattress is purely memory foam and is more focused towards better breathability and user comfort. The most auspicious part is that the Casper uses Zoned Transition Support, which is perfect for users with back pain. The Puffy Mattress is an optimal 10 inches high and makes use of only two premium-quality memory foam layers. Some models may even have a polyfoam base layer. Top Layer is a 3-inch layer of specialized memory foam dubbed “Patent Pending Cooling Cloud Foam.” At the least, it is similar to gel-infused memory foam, which uses special Cloud Gel to wick away heat and moisture from the center and direct it towards the edges. Bottom Layer is a 7-inch polyurethane foam layer which has a PCF of 1.5. It works to provide essential support and firmness to the model. This layer has been specialized by Variable Pressure Foaming to lift up the user. Top Layer is made of open-cell memory foam, which is lesser compact than ordinary memory foam and feels soft, delicate, and highly cool. The primary purpose of the layer is to provide breathability to the user. Second Layer is a layer of compact, dense memory foam designed to uphold the user and maintain firmness. The firmness of this layer is 5.5 (medium). The third Layer uses Zoned Support. It creates a softer mattress underneath your shoulders and a harder mattress under your pelvis. The Casper uses this technology to keep users safe from improper spine alignment and back pain, which is the problem with many sleepers. Base Layer is made of regular support foam that is capable of holding up the mattress. Want to learn more about Casper Mattress? Not much is known about the Puffy mattress's cover, except that it is “cool and breathable.” However, we find that the Puffy Company didn’t apply much effort to their cover, as their top layer is supposed to be the leading provider of coolness. But with the top layer in action, most users don’t feel a thing. The Casper uses a very soft and thin cover to enhance the temperature of the sleeper greatly. Not only that, but their cover is zip-off, meaning it can easily be removed and cleaned separately. It is a much-needed upgrade, as mattresses tend to get dirty often. If we had to compare the covers side-by-side, we’d say that the Casper is better concerning the cover itself. However, the foam layers of both the mattresses make up for any lack in the covers, so this won't affect sleep quality much. The firmness of both the Puffy and the Casper is close to medium-firm, although Casper’s is closer to medium. The Puffy Mattress has a firmness of 6.5 and a thickness or height of 10 inches. Overall, the mattress feels both soft and firm, although it is firmer than it is soft. We find that the foam is an excellent conduit for transferring heat and moisture, and feels more comfortable and precise than other brands out there. The primary cause of firmness is the top layer. The top layer uses a very strong and lofty viscoelastic polyfoam which is excellent at keeping the user content. The bottom layer mainly has to do with support and providing a strong base, and although it is firm, its firmness can’t be felt through the foam. It is an excellent pro for the users who buy the Puffy mattress, as this impairs any uneven softness and ensures proper support while also maintaining the right superficial firmness. We recommend this firmness for back and side sleepers, although it may work better for back sleepers. Medium-firm options are the best for users who want to correct spinal alignment. The Casper has a firmness of 5.5, which is closer to medium than medium firm. However, this uniqueness can be seen as a downside, as many users are accustomed to the medium-firm, and a softer rating doesn’t necessarily work for all of them. There are multiple layers in the Casper mattress that provide this firmness. The open cell memory foam has a dilute effect on the overall firmness, followed by the two layers of memory foam. The zoned layer has two different firmnesses: a softer one under the shoulders and a harder one under the pelvis. It is excellent for users who want to correct any back pains. This mattress is better for side sleepers than back sleepers, although both can take benefit from it in one way or another. Not recommended for stomach sleepers. Like the sound of Casper mattress?
