  • 1 chopped onion,
  • 1 minced garlic cloves,
  • a tad of butter for sautéing,

  • 1 /8 ounce can of tomato sauce,
  • ½ cup of chopped celery,
  • 1/3 cup of vinegar,
  • 1 bay leaf,
  • 3 tablespoons of molasses,
  • 2 teaspoon of dry mustard,
  • 2 teaspoons of your favorite hot sauce,
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cloves,
  • ½ teaspoon of ground allspice, and
  • salt to taste.

You begin by sautéing the onions and garlic in butter until the onions are translucent, then add the remaining ingredients and bring to a rolling boil.
