BBQ Chicken

First, you will need: a cut up chicken and then decide if you want to use tomato sauce, tomato puree or ketchup.

If you are going to use ketchup you will need:

  • 1 ½ cups for this recipe, you can also use 1 ½ cups of a combination of tomato sauce and tomato puree and add some spices like onion salt and garlic salt and pepper. Next, you will stir in
  • ½ cup of brown sugar,
  • ¼ cup of Worcestershire sauce,
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and
  • 1 tablespoon of liquid smoke.

While you are preparing the sauce you should preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, you need to grease your baking dish with a very light coat of olive oil or vegetable oil.

Now, you can heat the sauce in a medium saucepan over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved. Pour this mixture over your chicken that you have placed in your baking dish. Bake for one hour.

The above bbq chicken recipe is wonderful when served with corn on the cob, whipped potatoes, rice, steamed broccoli, or a garden salad. Everyone will enjoy the aroma and the flavor of your barbequed chicken and many may ask for your recipe.

You can also add other ingredients to the above recipe that will tantalize your taste buds and have your guests wondering what the secret ingredient may be.

You can add pineapple chunks for a sweeter sauce or Tabasco sauce for a hotter style. The creation will be yours.
