This way you can have the traditional recipe at Christmas. No one will get bored with turkey when you learn how to prepare in many different ways.

Barbeque Turkey Recieps

To prepare the barbeque turkey recipe with dressing:

You will need:

  • 1- 5 pound turkey,
  • 1/3 cup of margarine,
  • 1/3 cupped of chopped onions,
  • 1 package of seasoned bread cubes,
  • ½ teaspoon of sage,
  • ½ teaspoon of thyme,
  • 1 beaten egg,
  • your favorite store bought barbeque sauce and
  • salt and pepper to taste.

I prefer one with a hickory smoke flavor. Cut your turkey in half lengthwise or ask the butcher where you purchase your turkey to cut it for you. You begin by pre-heating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Place turkey halves in a shallow baking pan and pour enough barbeque sauce on to cover your turkey. Roast for about an hour and then turn and baste again with the barbeque sauce.

Roast again for another hour. While your turkey is baking you can prepare the dressing.

In a frying pan, melt the margarine and then sauté the onions until they are transparent. In a large mixing bowl, combine the onions, bread cubes, sage, thyme, egg, salt and pepper. Now, remove the turkey from the baking dish and place the dressing directly on the pan in two mounds.

Place turkey halves over the dressing and bake until desired doneness. You can baste your turkey again with the barbeque while baking.

There are many delectable barbeque turkey recipes available that you are sure to enjoy. Your family will love the change as much as you will.

Now, you have begun a new family tradition that your children will enjoy preparing for their families in the future.
